Made a excel sheet that pulls data from SQL database for another.
PowerQuery how to avoid user having to enter SQL credentials? Is there a way to embed SQL Server credentials? Here are some threads I found with similar discussions/attempts:
PowerQuery in Excel for Mac is limited, so I would not be surprised if this is not feasible until new features are added in. However this would not be scalable for my Mac end users (100+), plus this would not be best practice to share log in credentials. On the Mac, when it prompts for log in, I would just use that the first time and it will not prompt ever again. Use a generic database log in (the role only has access to specified views), as the credentials for PQ.
It works universally for both Mac/Windows, but is unideal since I have to load the table to my worksheet, and then use PQ to transform/edit the table.
Ideally, you have to use Excel for Windows if you’re a power user. Include a screenshot, use the tableit website, or use the ExcelToReddit converter (courtesy of u/tirlibibi17) to present your data. Kasper Langmann, Co-founder of Spreadsheeto.
